Conor Ibrahiem (formerly Conor Alexander) began his acting career in amateur dramatics at the Bradford Playhouse in 1990. From then until 1997 he continued on the am-dram circuit, performing in plays such as A Child's Christmas in Wales, Godspell and The Cherry Orchard. He then went on to study Performing Arts at Bradford College between 1997 and 1999, and it was during this period, through an amateur production of Mame, that he received his big break. His television debut was as a waiter in an episode of Emmerdale in 1998, which led to an Equity card and an acting agent. After college, he tried for drama school but wasn't successful, but, not one to be deterred (and with his Equity card and agent to hand), he set out to make it anyway. From 1999 to 2008, Conor appeared in series such as H

From 1999 to 2008, Conor appeared in series such as Hollyoaks, Family Affairs, EastEnders, Dalziel and Pascoe, Bad Girls and The Royal Today. In the theatre, he has appeared in productions such as My Dad's Corner Shop, Equus, Life of Pi and Players, at venues including the Oldham Coliseum, the Derby Playhouse and West Yorkshire Playhouse. In and amongst his acting work, Conor began scriptwriting and has been shortlisted for various awards and then in 2008 he took his foot off the acting pedal and joined Peshkar Productions as the 'Creative Learning Officer'. His ambition to diversify didn't stop there and in 2009 he established the first Islamic theatre company in the North of England; 'Arakan Creative'. The focus is stories within the Islamic world, South Asian community issues and education. Arakan has since won three awards and continues to strive to bridge communities and tackle any issues that are detrimental to our world. With Arakan, Conor writes and directs the plays and they are looking to build into media content production in the future. Acting still features in Conor's life but not the extent it once did, yet he hopes to return to more regular acting work in the future. He has appeared in three roles on Coronation Street: * a Letting Agent in 2006 * a Police Officer in 2008 * DC Vanner between May and October 2014
