Quilladin: “Quill!” Ryan: “Huh?” Ryan (as he takes out his Pokedex): “Whoa, what are those Pokemon?” Pokedex: “Heracross, the Bug/Fighting Single Horn Pokemon. Heracross have sharp claws on their feet. These are planted firmly into the ground or the bark of a tree, giving the Pokemon a secure and solid footing to forcefully fling away foes with its proud horn. Heracross are usually docile, but if interrupted while sipping honey, they will send intruders flying with their horn.” Ryan: “Yikes.” Froakie: “Fro?” Heracross #2: “Hera! Heracross!” Heracross #1: Cross! Heracross Cross, Hera!

Froakie, you and Quilladin stay with the others. I’m going to check this out.” Heracross #2: “Hera! Heracross!” Heracross #1: Cross! Heracross Cross, Hera! Ryan: “Whoa-whoa-whoa, it’s okay, it’s okay!” Ryan: “Now, start at the start. What’s happening?” Heracross #2: “Heracross! Cross Hera, Heracross!” Ryan: “Oh! I get what you’re arguing about now! You’re trying to decide what you should do to stop the situation, but keep disagreeing!” Ryan: “Don’t worry Heracross….es. I’ve got an idea! Hang on” Ryan: “Lapras, Froakie, I need your help to help the Heracross! Their tree needs water!” Ryan: “Delphox, please protect the others until we get back, okay?” Ryan: “Heracross! I need you to move! I’ve got a plan!” Once the Heracross are out of the tree, Ryan tosses the Pokeballs, and the Water Type Pokemon pop out. Ryan: “Alright you two, let’s water the tree!” Ryan (Thinking): “A new move as well. Fancy that.” Soon, the two Pokemon had watered an efficient amount, and Ryan returned them to their Pokeballs. Ryan: “There you go.” Korrina: Hey there Heracross. Ryan: “You know the Heracross?” Ryan: “We must be where some people call ‘Heracross Haven’! I should’ve known from the start!” Korrina: Yeah, I come here from time to time after gym battles. Ryan: “You wouldn’t happen to be Korrina would you? Gym Leader of Shalour City?” Korrina: Yes I would, and you are? Ryan: “Ryan McCrimmon. I was hoping for a battle with you. I was actually in Shalour a lot earlier, but I didn’t get a chance to battle after I met up with some new friends.” Korrina: Meeting new people is cool. You kind of remind me of a trainer I battled. His name was Jon. But he was a great challenger, with his mysterious Typhlosion. Ryan: “Oh! He, a friend and the friend’s sister were who I was talking about when I said ‘new friends’. How coincidental.” Korrina: I want to face him again. His Typhlosion beat my Mega Lucario. Anyway, what is up with the Heracross? Ryan: “They were worried because their tree is wilting. But my Froakie and Lapras watered it for them.” Korrina: Do you have a grass type? Leech Seed would help strengthen the tree. Quilladin, who had been watching and listening, walks up with Pumpkaboo. Pumpkaboo uses Leech Seed on the tree. Ryan: “Cool! So Korrina, how about we say goodbye to the Heracross and get to that gym battle?” Korrina: Okay, but my Pokemon are at the Pokemon Center being healed and won’t be healed till tomorrow. Ryan: “Fair enough. I’ll see you then.” Ryan (Thinking): “Oh! I almost forgot!” Ryan: “Korrina, which is the quickest way to the Pokeball Factory from Shalour City?” Ryan: “I was told this Pokeball couldn’t be fixed, but I wanted to take it to the factory just to be certain.” Korrina: You have to go pass Lumiose City and then head towards Laverre City. The Pokeball Factory is there. Ryan: “Thanks. I’ll see you at the Gym.” Ryan (Thinking): “Wow, I just realized. I’ve come a long way. Sure, there were some bumps in the road, but it was otherwise fine. And besides, no matter how many times I win or lose, a battle is a battle. Korrina, even if you beat me, I could pull around. But I guess we’ll see.” Narrator: While on his way to Shalour City, Ryan saw two Heracross in distress and went to help them with the tree. While there, he met Korrina, the Shalour City Gym Leader. Now, Ryan, Delphox and Quilladin head towards Shalour City to face Korrina. Can he win? Find out next time.
