Nils got his name Peaceful because of the peaceful declaration of independence in 1370. Thorway was, under his reign, a rich country with trading routes to many other countries in Europe. In 1380 he got the Danish citizens of the island Holmø to join the island by allowing them to pay no taxes the first 100 years. Nils died in 1393 after beeing killed by his wife's brother after a fight. After his death Crownprince Malthe was crowned King of Thorway.
