| - Horrorterror is the language spoken by the monstruous otherwordly being from Lovecraftian horror, or at the very least an approximate of my devise.
- Due to the nature of time in the Furthest Ring it is likely no chronological order of events can properly describe their history; however at some point Lord English began slaughtering them; whether this was deliberate or a side-effect of his destroying dream bubbles is unknown. Desperate, they contacted players seeking their assistance. At some point, Feferi Peixes, who was raised by their emissary, Gl'bgolyb, convinced the horrorterrors to create a series of stable dream bubbles, which allowed players who had died to communicate with players who had lost one of their bodies. However, Vriska Serket believed the horrorterrors were willing to create the dream bubbles not out of altruism but as a distraction for English, thus giving them a temporary reprieve from being slaughtered.
- Their current goal seems to be preventing their deaths at the hands of LFile:EnglishO.gifrd English, but beyond that they have a mysterious and suspicious agenda, their involvement in Sburb remaining unknown to this day. They seem to be opposed to the creation of new universes (although this may only apply the humans, who created the universe LFile:EnglishO.gifrd English was born in), but also to the complete destruction of reality. The horrorterrors are inspired by H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos, and their being referred to as outer gods parallels Lovecraft's "Outer Ones" and "Great Old Ones".

The horrorterrors are inspired by H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos, and their being referred to as outer gods parallels Lovecraft's "Outer Ones" and "Great Old Ones". On Earth, the Squiddles are stated to be a subconscious re-imagining of the horrorterrors and other Beasts residing in the Furthest Ring, with the character Skipper Plumbthroat possibly representing LFile:EnglishO.gifrd English. “Squiddles I guess are a sort of candy coated representation of the outer gods. (...) They were not necessarily conjured into existence by the gods, via dark conspiracy either. It's more likely that humans created them as an echo of their subconscious awareness that these gods exist, and present them through this cute, approachable facade.” — Andrew Hussie The horrorterrors are referred to numerous times as the outer gods, leading to the possibility that they are, in fact, the players that created the troll universe, and now exist as its gods. Hussie has frequently joked about this idea, but confirmed nothing. Known horrorterrors include Fluthlu, Nrub'yiglith, and Oglogoth. Although Gl'bgolyb resembles a horrorterror, she was given to Alternia by Doc Scratch and is really just a lusus in the form of one, in the same way that the other lusii take the form of white versions of other creatures. Gl'bgolyb appears to have some connection with actual horrorterrors, however, since she helps Feferi convince them to create dream bubbles in the Furthest Ring.
