Kenji proposed that they work as bounty hunters, but they ended up defecting to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. He was often said to have been the opposite of his brother: Kenji was naturally a large person, while Kiyoshi was thin. Kenji was also a social person, and was generally positive about things, while Kiyoshi was cold and anti-social. They both had loyalty to the Empire, initially. Kenji was a lethal marksman, and during his time as an Imperial Army trooper, he earned the Imperial Medal of Skill.
