It was summoned to service under the Interim Ruling Council and was deployed as one of dozens of Star Destroyers patrolling and securing the Tarkin Corridor. In 8 ABY Intractable was attached to a new task force under the direction of Warlord Jarl Rellik and given the mission of suppressing and annexing the Caspian Democratic Union. Teamed with Emperor Valak and Tyrant, the trio centered a formidable force to dissuade any opposition. For this campaign, Intractable was given the _____ Stormtrooper Legion and the mechanized regiment of the 216th Imperial Army Division. >> Battle of the Inner Caspian Worlds >> Siege of Trinumvira >> Battle of the Belt Intractable would be destroyed at what came to be known as the Battle of the Belt. She was set upon, strafed, and torpedoed mercilessly by fighters and bombers from the Caspian Navy's carriers Typhoon and Tempest, as well as coming under missile attacks from CMS Audace and CMS Fulmar, which would all use the asteroid belt as cover. Intractable's primary screening escorts had either been drawn away, disabled, or destroyed, and Captain ____________ saw it best to get closer to the asteroid belt, thinking that no opposing ship would be able to maneuver within it. Later, as a desperate measure, Intractable's guns started blowing asteroids apart in the efforts of uncovering or thwarting any oncoming Caspians within the belt. The other Imperial starships were occupied with their own engagements, and the Star Destroyer suddenly found herself squaring off against CMKS Arsenal and CMS Vigorous, themselves aided by several frigates, sloops, and two new waves of fighters. After a substantial pounding, the Star Destroyer's entire primary power grid failed, and then the ship broke up scant minutes later. Some of the crew had abandoned ship in life pods and shuttles, but thousands were trapped in collapsed compartments or lost in the resulting explosions. The loss of the Star Destroyer would represent the largest Imperial warship lost during the campaign, and also account for nearly a quarter of the Imperial Navy casualties. From SW1ki, a Wikia wiki.
