Quarrels are missiles that are used in conjunction with standard crossbow-type missile weapons (light crossbows (of accuracy), heavy crossbows (of accuracy) and artifact crossbow The Far Slayer). Quarrels are roughly comparable to their arrow counterparts (and together serve as basic ammunition for ranged attacks in ADOM). The following list contains main differences between the two types of ammunition:

Desirability
| - Quarrels are among the three most common types of ammunition in ADOM and thus are desirable for players wishing to utilize ranged missile attacks. As quarrel-type slaying ammunition follows the same trend as generic quarrel-type ammunition , focusing on crossbow skills has a slight edge over focusing on bow skills for an average PC. However, increased rarity and decreased stack quantity provides a significant limiting factor for this approach. The usual strategy for ranged missile combat is to invest in both weapon skills.

Description
| - Quarrels are missiles that are used in conjunction with standard crossbow-type missile weapons .
Quarrels are roughly comparable to their arrow counterparts . The following list contains main differences between the two types of ammunition:
* Quarrels are usually found less often and come in lower quantities ; in addition, while there are several monsters in ADOM that can be milked for arrows, only ratling archers and titans use quarrels for ranged attacks.
* Quarrels feature slightly better base damage output than arrows; while the difference is marginal for base materials and mithril/adamantium, eternium quarrels boast significant firepower.
* Base quarrels are made of iron instead of wood which seems to significantly increase their durability as well as making them less susceptible to item destruction; on the other hand, iron quarrels can be rusted and cannot be used to hurt rust monsters.

Sources
| - Quarrels can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot. They can also be created from wooden sticks and logs using the Fletchery skill.
Ratling archers can be milked for iron quarrels and may drop stacks of them when killed. titans can be milked for eternium quarrels .

abstract
| - Quarrels are missiles that are used in conjunction with standard crossbow-type missile weapons (light crossbows (of accuracy), heavy crossbows (of accuracy) and artifact crossbow The Far Slayer). Quarrels are roughly comparable to their arrow counterparts (and together serve as basic ammunition for ranged attacks in ADOM). The following list contains main differences between the two types of ammunition:
* Quarrels are usually found less often and come in lower quantities (this applies to random loot generation and ammunition created through the application of Fletchery); in addition, while there are several monsters in ADOM that can be milked for arrows, only ratling archers and (greater) titans use quarrels for ranged attacks.
* Quarrels feature slightly better base damage output than arrows; while the difference is marginal for base materials and mithril/adamantium, eternium quarrels boast significant firepower.
* Base quarrels are made of iron instead of wood which seems to significantly increase their durability as well as making them less susceptible to item destruction; on the other hand, iron quarrels can be rusted (which halves the overall ranged damage output) and cannot be used to hurt (large/giant) rust monsters.
