Rhisoulphos later changed his allegiance back to Krispos, though he lived under a cloud after. He plotted with the patriarch Gnatios to take the throne if Krispos died in battle during the latter's Kubrat war, but was uncovered, tonsured, and immured in a remote monastery on the far side of the Videssian Sea.
