As is the case with all bit Generations games, it was meant to provide innovative gameplay in a distinctly retro setting. Early in development the game was known as bit Generations: Dotliner.

As is the case with all bit Generations games, it was meant to provide innovative gameplay in a distinctly retro setting. Early in development the game was known as bit Generations: Dotliner. In 2010, Nintendo and skip remade the game for WiiWare and called it Art Style: Light Trax. It was the first time that the game was released outside of Japan.
