  • Michigan J. Frog is a cartoon character from the Looney Tunes in Son of the Mask.
  • Michigan J. Frog is a minor character who has appeared on occasion in the Looney Tunes film-shorts, having debuted in One Froggy Evening in 1955, and has the most prominence as the mascot of The WB Network and its programming block Kids' WB. He is a frog with quite a talent for singing and/or dancing. Ed Sullivan influenced the character, as told by Chuck Jones.
  • Michigan J. Frog is an animated cartoon character who debuted in the Looney Tunes cartoon One Froggy Evening (December 31, 1955), written by Michael Maltese and directed by Chuck Jones. In this cartoon, Michigan is a male frog who wears a top hat, carries a cane, sings pop music, ragtime, Tin Pan Alley hits, and other songs from the late 19th and early 20th century while dancing and performing acrobatics in the style of early 20th century vaudeville. He appeared in a later cartoon titled Another Froggy Evening which was released on October 6, 1995. He was also a former mascot of The WB Television Network from that year until 2005, and after The Night of Favorites and Farewells, he was shown as the final image of a ghost bowing down to viewers, bringing up The CW Television Network.
  • His name comes from the song "The Michigan Rag" (an original song written by Jones, Maltese, and musical director Milt Franklyn), which he sings in the cartoon. In a clip from a DVD special, Jones stated that he had come up with the name "Michigan Frog" during the 1970s and was inspired to add the "J." as a middle initial while being interviewed by a writer named Jay Cocks. In Another Froggy Evening, his voice was provided by Jeff McCarthy.

This process is an obvious homage to Ol' Rip the Horned Toad]], a lizard found alive in a time capsule in 1928 after having supposedly been placed there in 1897.
  • Michigan is voiced by John Hillner in Tiny Toon Adventures. The character appears only twice in Tiny Toons; however, both appearances are fairly prominent. In the short, Turtle Hurdle, from the Season 1 episode, The Wide World Of Elmyra, Michigan taunts Tyrone Turtle as he tries to cross a newly-built freeway after escaping from Elmyra's home. Michigan hops back and forth across the road with ease while singing, as Tyrone's attempts are always met with disastrous results. In the end, Tyrone succeeds across, but Elmyra spots him from the road and her father stops the car for her. She runs out and grabs Tyrone until she sees something better (a singing and performing frog), so she drops Tyrone and snatches up Michigan to take home with her instead.
