The Postman delivered the mail to the Rovers Return in 1973, just as Len Fairclough was leaving the boozer. Handing the letters to Jerry Booth to pass through to Annie Walker, the postman overheard a complaint from Jerry about Len kicking the doors open just after Jerry had decorated the establishment. Chiming in with his twopence, the postman suggested to Jerry that the outside could do with it too.
