Lane Barrens was with his girlfriend on a date one winter night, she made his life better after his parents left him alone. He took up boxing and martial arts, becoming a hero at night named 'Brass'. They were walking home from the theatre down the street, when a group of men jumped out and pulled a knife, Lane pushed his girlfriend back into a run and attempted to stop them but one of them stabbed him in the arm and kicked him badly. While he was stuck in the snow on the ground, bleeding and bruised, he looked up at the night sky. There was a bright light and burning sound, the object flared over him and crashed into the ground behind him, the force from it throwing him away. Lane struggled to stand with what he thought was a broken rib, walking towards the smoking meteorite. On a pedestal in the center was a ceremonial stand with what looked like a pair of brass knuckles, only made of something other than brass...He slid them on with the intention of using them against the thugs, but felt energy and strength surge threw him. His arms pumped up and appeared stronger, his body's tone and strength increasing. The brass knuckles that Lane wears grants him enhanced strength, speed, stamina and pain tolerance. - Lane's arms, while wearing the knuckles, are impervious to any form of damage. - The brass knuckles give Lane the ability to lift in excess of 30 tons. - Lane gets enhanced stamina from the brass knuckles, sometimes practicing his martial arts for days at a time until exhausted. - Lane's brass knuckles give him enhanced pain tolerance, when fighting Sabretooth his chest was cut straight across but he barely flinched. -The brass knuckles also give Lane a slightly faster healing ability. -Lane has a slightly enhanced speed to add to these abilities, not super speed.
