Niō's leg injury was a trick. It seems like he will easily catch up with the Laser Beam, however Yagyuu reveals that while they were playing doubles together, he noticed that Niō has a habit of lowering his voice when using one of his tricks. The Laser suddenly curves and lands in the opposite corner, leaving Niō unable to react. Yagyuu beats Niō 8-6. The next set of matches is about to start: Kamio vs Ibu, Krauser vs Sakata, and finally Sanada vs Yukimura.

The Laser suddenly curves and lands in the opposite corner, leaving Niō unable to react. Yagyuu beats Niō 8-6. Kikumaru has a 6-2 lead over Oishi and the match seems to be decided, but Kikumaru double faults on the first two match points. Saitō wonders what's wrong and Kikumaru reveals that he doesn't want Oishi to lose because then they won't be able to play doubles together any more. Oishi scolds Kikumaru for thinking that way and Kikumaru regains his composure. The final score is 7-4. When Oishi is about to leave, Kikumaru asks him to leave his racket behind, that way he won't be left out of the selection. The next set of matches is about to start: Kamio vs Ibu, Krauser vs Sakata, and finally Sanada vs Yukimura.
