abstract	Ken Dixon was a sim justice activist. In 1988 he and another activist, Melody Porter, removed a sim named Matt from the Disease Research Center in Terminus, and took him to Springfield, FCA. Matt had been infected with HIV. While Dixon was a strong believer in sim justice, he had joined the movement in part because of his attraction to Melody. Dixon was thus more inclined to be pragmatic. While Matt was taken without any major difficulties, the two did not take enough of the HIVI, nor could they effectively synthesize it. Thus, Matt grew more and more sick as full-blown AIDS began to take hold. Dixon finally convinced Melody that Matt had to go back to the DRC. Melody agreed. As a consequence, the romantic relationship the two had begun was terminated.
