Elsie Woodhouse was a bit-part actress who appeared in several television series in the 1960s, quite often playing customers in shops and it was in the role of a "Woman customer" that she first appeared in the third episode of the first season of the Coronation Street spin-off Pardon the Expression in 1965 and later in the same year as one of the bus Passengers in the untransmitted Christmas Special of the same programme. In 1967 she appeared as Lady Pangbourne in an episode of the Street 's second spin-off Turn out the Lights.
