Raunip, also known as Raunip the Heretic, was the son of Aughra, born before the arrival of the Fallen urSkeks. Like his mother, he was a friend to all the races of Thra, but he differed in that he viewed the arrival of the urSkeks with suspicion. Like his mother, Raunip had a flat nose, a thick mane of hair and a pair of horns. Unlike his mother, he had a thin body, had two, rather than three eyes, and had a tail.

- The adopted son of Aughra, Raunip came from a meteor from another world. Ever loyal to his mother, Raunip was skeptical of the arrival of the UrSkeks and was very uncomfortable with them hiding the crystal behind castle walls away from Thra's native people. His discovery of the UrSkeks having been exiles and heretics of their own world drove his distrust further. He would eventually witness the cracking of the crystal and the creation of the Skeksis and Mystics. In the aftermath, he and Aughra traveled deep within Thra to collect shards of the crystal.
