Keiichi Shimizu (志水 桂一) is a first year cellist in the music department, whom is known across the school for being a sleepy bishonen and a cello prodigy. Keiichi is often found passed out on the ground with a book and his cello. Keiichi tells Hino that he finds so much joy in playing his cello, striving for the perfect, most wonderful sound that he closes his eyes when he practises and when he opens them again it's morning. Keiichi also enjoys visiting the library to study music and famous composers, as well as going to concerts to hear other peoples music being performed. Keiichi is enticed in his own world with his cello, but soon falls in love with the sound of Hino's violin.
