For a short time after its release, people were concerned about the "Pro" factor; namely, if, alongside the Performa systems, the "Pro" systems were to be another parallel release of the Macintosh system software. This never really happened. System 7 Pro weighed in at USD 150 -- one of the most expensive updates to the Macintosh system software ever.
