Squirps is an alien that appears in the fourth chapter of Super Paper Mario. Mario first finds him stranded in space by following his SOS signals. Mario can use hold on to Squirps and use him to fire lasers at enemies and obstacles in space. Squirps is also the key to different gateways on the way to the Whoa Zone, where Mario can find a Pure Heart. At the end of the Whoa Zone, after defeating Mr. L and his Brobot, Squirps leads Mario's party to a room with a golden statue that he reveals as his mother, the queen of his planet, which makes him the prince.

Squirps joins them on their quest, and Mario and crew (In space floating areas) use him like a gun. In the second area, he was kept waiting by Fleep when he was needing to use the bathroom. Fleep didn't have toilet paper, so the crew went out to find some. after getting a secret ancient scroll, Fleep used it as toilet paper. After Squirps did his buisness, they went on their way. Squirps later raced Mario to the Whoa Zone, and revealed his mother assigned him to guard the pure heart.
