Although never elected to the Senate, Elisabeth Cornwall was a close ally of Emerson St. Clair. He was St. Clair's Deputy Leader and following his death, she became leader. On August 28, 2654, Cornwall was killed in a bizarre accident, in which her car was burned in a mysterious hit-and-run.
