Lank signed with the Philadelphia Flyers after they selected him 230th overall in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Lank turned pro with the Hershey Bears in 1995-96 and started as a steady, if unspectacular defenceman. Despite his big size (6'3") he rarely used his body to hit and was mostly a clean, smart player. The Flyers tried to get him to be rougher but to little avail. Except for two games for the Flyers in 1999-2000, Lank played his entire pro career in the American Hockey League, playing for the Philadelphia Phantoms from 1996 to 2000. He retired in 2000.
