Olene Finney was elected to Parliament representing Fiorina in December 2968. Finney sat on the back benches for most of her tenure. During this time, she supported various candidates for the leadership. She was one of twelve MP's who voted against Hilda Glass in 2972. In 2975, she nominated Abraham Salinger for the leadership. Despite her support, Salinger was unable to qualify for the ballot. However, once Glass resigned, Finney was instrumental in getting Salinger on the ballot. She also supported Magnolia Cayetano's bid to become interim President. Finney also actively supported Martin Straus's campaign for Deputy Leader.

In 2978, Finney halfheartedly supported Kim Mountjoy's bid to retain the leadership. She also supported Kathy Borders's campaign for Deputy Leader. In 2986, Olene Finney stood for the Deputy Leadership. During this campaign, she ran on a ticket with Ari Nuland. Once Nuland was defeated, she backed Joe Basnight. In the Deputy Leadership contest, Finney defeated Julian Creighton by a narrow margin. In 2988, Finney was elected Vice President under Jesse Chambers. The Chambers-Finney ticket was reelected in 2992. In 2993, President Chambers announced his resignation as General Secretary. Finney then assumed the leadership. She was one of the party's most conservative leaders. When she became General Secretary, all 13 of her children were serving in Parliament with her. In 2994, her oldest son, Caleb Finney was recalled from office. He died later in the year at the age of 44 due to cancer. While campaigning for the local elections in 2995, Finney and her children got into a plane crash. Three of them died in the crash: Chloë Wittrock at 41, Noa Irizarry at 31, and Opal de la Garza at 29. In June 2996, three of her children resigned from Parliament due to a campaign finance violation. Will Finney died in 2997 at the age of 27 after being struck in the head with a hammer. Adaleen Lind died in 3001 at the age of 54. Krystal St. Patrick died in 3009 at the age of 48. Olene Finney resigned the following month. In the 2996 elections, only five of her children opted to seek reelection. Cassi Vassey decided not to seek reelection, rather than face defeat. Vassey died in 3016 at the age of 63. The others all failed to be reelected. In 3000, Jesse Finney died at the age of 41 following a drug overdose. In 3004, Ginnifer Devane died at the age of 47. In 3008, Bella Gaskill died at the age of 60. In 3011, Eden du Pres died at the age of 56. In 3027, Roman Finney died at the age of 60. She outlived all of her children except Roman.
