He was the officer of the watch when the People's Navy's Battlecruiser Divisions 141 and 142 under the command of Rear Admiral Edward Pierre entered Talbot. Avshari had very limited tactical experience, but still managed to turn his ship's sidewalls towards the enemy. When the Havenites opened fire, causing minor damage to Bellerophon's hull, he instructed Lieutenant Arlene Wolversham, the Tactical Officer, to return fire.
