The Imperial Crisis was a conflict caused by the Imperial Nationalists of Vladimir Makarov, in an attempt to restore the Galactic Empire. The Imperial Loyalists, led by Jagged Fel, and aided by the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, fought the Nationalists. It began in 37 ABY, and lasted for four bloody years, ending in 41 ABY with the death of Makarov. Several Nationalist officers attempted to keep fighting and formed their own rogue fleets, but were defeated by the end of the year. At the end of the crisis, Jagged Fel was inaugurated as the first Chief of State of the Imperial Remnant.
