This began with the Argentine, Uruguayan and Paraguayan governments declaring war on Chile and Brazil (allegedly they done this because Himmler would give them Chile. Fortunately, they were routed at San Miguel(where Juan Peron was killed) by Chile, who linked up with Brazil and pushed southwards to Buenos Aires, after which Argentina surrendered. The treaty of Santiago would give Brazil Uruguay and Paraguay. Fortunately for Argentina, Brazil, like the USSR, had a nuclear weapons programme but did not complete it before the war ended. After the South American front closed, Brazil and Chile sent their navies to the Atlantic and Pacific respectively
