The step-son of a respected admiral, he was discovered to be Force-sensitive at an early age, but his real father kept the matter secret. His birth stained his fathers name in the public due to his mothers affair with a lowly Sith apprentice. Despite this his father took him in after his mother abandoned him and raised him as if he was his own. After a seventeen year career in the Imperial Military his Force-sensitivity was discovered and he was shipped to the Sith academy on Korriban. During his training he caught the eye of the Emperor, Exar Kuen, who hand picked him to become his apprentice.
