| - The Naku is the female only third of the Shozi people. Their bodies are generally more slender and agile than their Kuna and Toan counterparts. The Naku have a mostly humanoid body with extremely feline features including digitigrade feet and fur (see Shozi Biology). Naku fur is typically light and tawny browns with slightly darker stripping patterns.
- Naku was born on a small village during the Warring States Period and initially lived a peaceful life with his family. Ever since a young age, Naku was fascinated with swords, and at the age of six, his grandfather gave him his first sword, which went on to become his trademark one, and was taught swordsmanship by his grandfather. For the next four years, Naku's skills increased to the point where the Uchiha clan took notice and wanted to use Naku to help them defeat their sworn enemies, the Senju clan. One faithful day, Naku set out to practice his sword skills on his own in the forest, and when he returned a few hours later, much to his horror, he found his entire family murdered and found a piece of paper with the Senju logo on it, which made Naku believe the Senju were responsible for his family's murder and became determined in exacting revenge on every single one of them. Unbeknownst to Naku, his family were murdered by the Uchiha clan, who framed the Senju's to have Naku do their dirty work for them. Realizing he would need to train harder than ever before, Naku became a mercenary and would accept any sort of job as long as the payment was worth it, and would sometime work for clans who were pitted against each other, not caring whose lives he would take or destroy, caring only to avenge his family. By the time Naku was twenty years old, he gained a reputation known throughout the lands, and was given the nickname of Slasher (斜線, Shasen) because of how his victims were found with deep cuts on their bodies. He also spent the majority of his time and money upgrading his sword, which quickly became famous and was named the Legendary Sword (でんきてきけん, Denkiteki Ken), which also caused Naku to be the target of other assassins, who desired to obtain his sword, but Naku managed to survive every attack, and left his message by cutting his enemies heads off and leaving multiple cuts on their bodies. Not too long after, Naku finally believed he was ready to exact his revenge on the Senju clan and during a widespread battle between the Senju and the Uchiha, Naku interrupted the battle by decapitating the heads of both an Senju and Uchiha member, which caused the battle to stop momentarily and both clans focused their attentions towards Naku, who shouted that he would kill whorever stood in his way and warned the Uchiha to leave, otherwise they would be wiped out along with the Senju's. The Uchiha, however, refused to back down and a dozen of Uchiha's charged towards Naku, who quickly accessed his unique Mystic Chakra and effortlessly killed the Uchiha's that charged against him. Naku was then confronted by Hashirama Senju, who asked him about his reasons to exterminate the Senju, and Naku informed him about the Senju murdering his family in cold blood, and wouldn't stop until every single member of the Senju clan was wiped out. Madara Uchiha, who was also in the battlefield, interrupted him, saying that he wouldn't get to kill Hashirama, because Madara himself was the one who would do it. Naku told Madara to stay out of his way, but Madara refused to listen and activated his Susanoo. Naku was unfazed by Madara's Susanoo and simply activated his Mystic Chakra and launched a powerful gust of wind from his sword towards Madara, who managed to cancel the attack with his Susanoo's swords before retaliating with a powerful fireball technique, but Naku managed to cut the fireball into two with his sword with ease, before cutting the Susanoo down by exhaling wind-infused chakra into his sword and cutting it down with its enhanced sharpness, range and lethality. Madara was utterly shocked by Naku's abilities and claimed that he was the only one besides Hashirama that made him feel this excited in a battle and asked him if he had any other powerful techniques. Naku remained silent and only created a vortex of wind towards Madara, before combining with stream of fire, causing a massive inferno in the process, which struck Madara and caused great damage. Madara, however, was unfazed by the pain and only expressed his excitement at Naku's skills and retaliated with a massive widespread fire technique, but Naku countered with a powerful wall made of water to protect himself and cancel Madara's attack. Afterwards, Naku told Madara to give up because there were no techniques that Madara could use to defeat him, and whatever he had up his sleeve, Naku could counter it, before turning his attentions towards Hashirama. Madara became enraged at being ignored so easily and launched a powerful dragon-shaped fireballs towards Naku, who easily blocked them by creating a whip made of water and redirecting the fireballs towards other members of the Uchiha and Senju clans, killing them in the process. Naku informed Hashirama that despite not being responsible for his family's deaths, his fate was sealed just being part of the Senju clan, but Hashirama tried to explain that his clan had nothing to do with his family's murder, but Naku refused to believe him, saying that his clan's logo was found on top of his family's corpses, shocking Hashirama in the process. Madara, however, interrupted and revealed that it were the Uchiha who murdered them, shocking both Naku and Hashirama in the process. Madara revealed that Naku's reputation was still growing and the Uchiha saw potential in him and wanted him to do their dirty work for them, and framed the Senju by purposely leaving the Senju's logo on the site, and sarcastically asked if he's gotten Naku's attention. Naku became momentarily paralyzed with shock by the revelation, but quickly regained his composure and told Madara he'd made the biggest mistake of his very, short life. Naku then expelled large amounts of lava from his mouth, which quickly solidified into multiple boulders of molten rock, and launched towards Madara, who avoided them, although other members of the Uchiha clan weren't so lucky, and were instantly killed by the attack. Madara then activated his Susanoo and manifested a partially transformed Susanoo arm and tried to strike Naku with it, but Naku blocked it with his sword and managed to push it back, but Madara avoided, although Naku quickly charged towards Madara and managed to pierce him through his abdomen, which caused Madara to cough out blood. Naku sarcastically asked Madara if this was the attention he was looking for, before quickly removing his sword from Madara's abdomen and seeing him lose an enormous amount of blood. Madara's brother, Izuna Uchiha tried to attack Naku, but he was intercepted by Hashirama's brother, Tobirama Senju and was mortally wounded. As Madara crawled towards his brother and helped him to his feet, Naku was ready to finish both of them off, before being stopped by Hashirama, who asked him to let Madara and the other Uchiha go, as their battle would continue the next day. Despite not wanting to let them get away, Naku accepted and let Madara and his brother flee. Naku then turned his attention towards Hashirama and asked him to kill him, much to Hashirama's shock and confusion. Naku claimed that his family were gone and he had no one else in the world, and he also killed many of Hashirama's clan members, and deserved to die because of it. Hashirama, however, offered Naku a handshake, saying that despite not being able to reverse his actions, he could atone for it by joining him and his clan, saying that despite never being able to replace his true family, they could become a secondary family instead. Naku was nearly brought to tears by Hashirama's words and accepted the offer, and joined the Senju clan, and Hashirama asked him to think of him and Tobirama as brothers. The next day, Naku and the Senju returned to the battlefield and confronted Madara, who revealed that Izuna had died from the injuries suffered by Tobirama and declared this the final battle between the Senju and the Uchiha, because they wouldn't back down anymore and told Hashirama to prepare himself. Hashirama and Madara began battling, while Naku and Tobirama battled against other members of the Uchiha clan, with Naku effortlessly cutting down many Uchiha clan members. After a long and exhausting battle, many Uchiha's surrended and gave up battling while Madara was knocked down by Hashirama. As Naku and Tobirama told Hashirama to finish Madara, Madara also asked the same, saying he had nothing left to protect, but Hashirama tried to convince Madara to form an alliance. When Madara offered Hashirama to either kill his brother or kill himself, Naku tried to kill Madara for it, but was stopped by Hashirama, who decided to end his own life to convince Madara to join them, but was stopped at the last second by Madara himself, who was finally convinced after seeing Hashirama's determination and officially ended the war between the Uchiha and the Senju and united both clans together, forming Konohagakure in the process. As Konohagakure began to grow overtime, Naku was named as Hashirama's personal advisor after Hashirama was named Hokage. Naku, Hashirama and Madara were then walking around their village, before they were called by Tobirama, who informed them about some rogue shinobi trying to invade the village. When they confronted the small group of rogue ninja, Madara informed them to turn around or be killed, but they refused and tried to attack Madara, who effortlessly slaughtered them with his Susanoo, and Naku was visibly worried as Madara had become colder as time passed. Eventually, Naku learned from Tobirama about Madara's defection, and Naku admitted that he wasn't surprised, but claimed that it was good while it lasted and asked Hashirama what he would do should Madara try to attack the village, and Hashirama claimed that in the worst-case scenario, he would put Madara down. Many years later, after Hashirama's death and Tobirama's promotion to Hokage, Naku and Tobirama created the Konoha Military Police Force and placed the Uchiha clan in charge of it, publicly as a sign of trust, but primarily so that the Uchiha could focus their energies into something beneficial as both Naku and Tobirama still distrusted the clan, fearing they would take the same path as Madara. After Tobirama founded the Anbu, Naku remembered how his life was ruined as a child because of the constant wars between the clans and how children were forced into battle, and decided to create the Academy, so that children could learn the basics of ninjutsu and be able to live a longer life than most children couldn't during the war-torn era. During the First Shinobi World War, Naku was placed in charge of his own squad, where they were in confrontation with Iwagakure, where Naku fought with the Second Tsuchikage, named Mū, and their battle devastated the land where their battle took place. At some point during the war, Naku learned of Tobirama's death at the hands of the Kinkaku Force and swore vengeance. Naku also met with Tobirama's Escort Unit and was informed about Hiruzen Sarutobi's promotion to Hokage by Tobirama himself, and congratulated Hiruzen on it, before telling them that they needed to make sure that Tobirama's sacrifice wasn't in vain and successfully led the Escort Unit safely back to Konohagakure. Realizing that he wouldn't survive, Naku gave Hiruzen his sword and asked him to guard it, telling him that once his body was found, bury his sword with him. Hiruzen asked Naku to not throw his life away, but Naku punched him in response, saying that giving his life to protect the village that his friends built wasn't throwing his life away, but rather making sure the future of Konoha was safe. Hiruzen apologized, but Naku claimed that he could redeem himself by watching over the next generation of shinobi, which Hiruzen promised to do so before Naku set out for his final battle. The details of Naku's death weren't fully revealed, except for the fact he intercepted Kinkaku's unit and managed to slaughter nearly two dozens of Kumogakure shinobi before Naku was finally put down by Kinkaku himself. His body was later retrieved by Konoha's shinobi and later buried, along with his trademark sword, and his tombstone read: "He died like he lived: Fighting for the future.".
- Naku is a Canthan hero of legend for his part in the Tengu Wars. His spirit still resides in Tahnnakai Temple. As his pedestal in Tahnnakai Temple says: Brash and impulsive in his youth, Naku was a known criminal in his home village in eastern Cantha. When the Tengu Wars began, Naku joined the Canthan army in an effort to protect his family and his shady business interests. Years of war gave him a new perspective on the nature of life and death, and eventually, Naku became a respected general, using his now considerable Necromancer powers against the Tengu who resisted Canthan rule. When Kahnmaatu, the village of his birth, was destroyed, Naku returned home and raised a vast army of minions from the corpses of his relatives and childhood playmates, then sacrificed his life to drive them directly into the enemy. This action shattered enemy lines and pushed the Tengu back far enough that the Canthan army was able to overcome them.
