| - In the year 2381 the Esquiline was commanded by Captain Parimon Dasht. (VOY novel: Full Circle; TNG novel: Losing the Peace) In March of that year, the Esquiline's slipstream drive had been installed and she departed on a test flight. Joining Captain Dasht was Admiral Leonard James Akaar, who had the ship set course to Ingraham B so that he could meet Captain Jean-Luc Picard in person aboard the USS Enterprise-E to offer him a promotion. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace) By May of that year, the Esquiline had been assigned to Project Full Circle with a crew compliment of 653. The Esquiline, along with the USS Galen and USS Achilles, was one of the first three ships in the fleet of nine to have its slipstream drive installed. The entire fleet was tasked with exploration of the Delta Quadrant; to ascertain whether the Borg Collective had indeed been completely eliminated at the conclusion of the Borg Invasion of 2381; and to attempt to make contact with the Caeliar. (VOY novel: Full Circle; ST novel: A Singular Destiny) The Esquiline, along with much of her crew, was declared missing in action after the ship was lodged in a rift between normal space and the Omega Continuum. The USS Curie, USS Quirinal, and USS Hawking joined her. In total, seven hundred eighty-five people were lost during this mission. (VOY novel: The Eternal Tide)
