| - The Stormblade is the sword of the Bladestorm family, passed from father to son through the years. From the great-grandfather of Thorwald Bladestorm who had it forged long ago in the War of the Storm Tower, the sword severed the head of Margathar the Stormbringer himself. The sword that was lost to the Sea Serpent of the Sea of Winter in the battle of Thorwald Bladestorm on his longship, the Red Mermaid. For something great, a great effort must be put. For the Stormblade was needed a terrible spirit. For only after journies long, wide and across the Shores, Thorwald succeeded in summoning a spirit terrible as the sea itself, a water elemental. A whole hour passed as the two dueled. Thorwald's hand at top, depanding a prize for such an outcome. The legendary hero demanded to balance the scales once more and told the beaten spirit to call forth the mighty, fearsome, Sea Serpent of the Sea of Winter to challenge it in a fight to the death! Soon the gigantic serpent rose out of the sea, and Thorwald dived into the water. A violent struggle began, as it pulled him deep down to the bottom, where they battled for hours in an underwater cave and ancient temple ruin. Razor-sharp, greatsword-sized, teeth bit into his flesh, yet, it stopped him not. Such teeth were powerful indeed and so, he broke one of the teeth from the gruesome monster and plunged it into its' fearsome head. Ironic it was, for both Thorwald and the Sea Serpent, for the two fought, in no other, than the wrecks of the Red Mermaid. There, where Thorwald fought the monster for the first time, and where the sword was lost. It is then as the Sea Serpent wriggled in pain from the tooth in its' head, when Thorwald saw it, the mighty Stormblade still stuck in its' flesh! He grabbed it and pulled it out! However, the terrible beast gave up not yet. It saw the opportunity and swallowed him completely. A futile mistake it was, for the hero was now ready. He cut his way out, slicing its' throat open from the inside with the Stormblade! Finally, the serpent had fallen to the bottom, where it now lies and rots. A scar of a battle is a sign to remember it well. Thorwald got a scar from the serpent's teeth. The sword is a sign for everyone, and the scar, for himself. A trophy from the battle.
