Nottinghamshire is a portion of England that was under the rule of the Sheriff of Nottingham. It contains a number of small villages and the leading town of Nottingham. Examples of it's included villages are Locksley, Clun and Nettlestone. Each town is governed by a lord, and Robin Hood used to be the Lord of Locksley. However, upon his return to England from the Crusades (at the beginning of the series), he was declared an outlaw and driven into Sherwood Forest, a vast wooded area which occupies most of Nottinghamshire.
