| - Wayne Andrews is a former NASCAR driver from Siler City, NC. He competed in six Sprint Cup Series events in his career, recording one top-five and three top-tens. More importantly, he was the final champion of the Grand American series, winning the 1972 title.
Andrews debuted in 1971, starting a five-race schedule at Bowman-Gray. Starting a career-best 4th, Andrews completed all but eight laps in route to a solid 7th place effort. Andrews, after a disappointing effort at Darlington, was able to log a 6th place finish at Columbia and then a career-best 5th place finish at Hickory. He ended the year with a 13th place finish at Macon.
His last race came in 1973, when Andrews raced at Charlotte. Starting 28th in the forty-one car field, Andrews fell out with early engine problems and finished 40th.
