| - With the continent of Phaara being the largest on Elara, it is the home to the largest number of civilized on the planet. The majority of those can be found on the shores of the Six Seas, and so do a large percentage of their international trade via the waterways. But these countries are not the only ones on the planet, and the Six Seas only water access to the rest of the world is through the North Passage between Taldia and Filaldor, into the frozen North Sea. Expeditions and excursions here are long and arduous, and economically unfeasible. The next shortest distance from the waters of the Six Seas to the surrounding oceans lies across the country of Kaladar. Unfortunately, it would also mean crossing the Varick Mountains. Roughly 350 years ago, the king of Kaladar commissioned the building of a permanent, easily traveled road from one side of the mountains to the other. There was such great interest from other countries in seeing this completed, that King Perisan actually received funding from the other nations to help complete the project. In the end, Perisan and Kaladar only needed to supply about 20% of the funds necessary to complete the new "Perisan Road." The Perisan Road crosses the Varick Mountains, from Stormhaven on Kaladar's west coast, through numerous mountain villages and Kaladar's new(er) capital of Stonelake, to Greyhaven on Kaladar's east coast. Greyhaven sits on the shores of the Romas Sea, giving water access to the countries of Taasha, Braemar, and Shendra on Phaara, and various other countries across the North Marinnis Ocean. The Perisan Road is a smooth route, paved with large flat granite stones. The dwarf stonemasons helped greatly, and the stones fit together so perfectly that a wagonride along the road has virtually no bumps. The Road is wide enough for four wagons abreast, but makes use of low sloped areas wherever possible, to cut down on the stresses put on the horse- and/or olvin-teams used to pull the wagons. As such, the road tends to be a very long and winding route. To make the journey easier, numerous towns and villages are positioned along the way, supplying taverns and inns, and stabling and warehousing.
