Fairly typical among First Age Eastern manses, the Ziggurat of the Sun is a three-dot Wood manse in the Southeastern wyld. In the High First Age, it served as a center of worship for the Unconquered Sun; in the shogunate, it lay overgrown and forgotten. In the Age of Sorrows, it serves as a refuge from the Wyld for a group of Chiroperans known as Blood Bats. These bat-beastmen are now loyal to the party and defend and inhabit the manse, as well as regularly worshiping.

These bat-beastmen are now loyal to the party and defend and inhabit the manse, as well as regularly worshiping. The manse is fayrly plain in design, though very large and full of unfurnished chambers. The altar at the top serves as the focus point for the manse's geomancy as well as a potent location for prayers and sacrifices. The manse is a temple-manse to the Unconquered Sun, and is warded from the Wyld.
