| - Blood Ties is a Canadian television series created by Peter Mohan, based on the Blood Books by Tanya Huff. It premiered in the United States on 11 March 2007 on Lifetime Television, and during the fall of 2007 on CityTV and Space in Canada, running for only 22 episodes before being cancelled. Blood Ties is set in Toronto, where Vicki Nelson (Christina Cox ), a former Toronto cop, works as a private investigator after starts to lose her eyesight. Through her work she meets the 480-year-old vampire Henry Fitzroy (Kyle Schmid), illegitimate son of Henry VIII. Vicki's assistant, Coreen Fennel (Gina Holden), was hired partly because of her knowledge of the occult but also to keep her quiet about Henry. Henry rapidly becomes Vicki's de facto partner in her cases, which increasingly involve the occult. However, the mutual attraction between them is complicated by Vicki's relationship with her former partner and lover, Det. Mike Celluci (Dylan Neal), who doesn't believe in the supernatural and thinks that Vicki is losing her mind along with her eyesight. Adapted from the Wikipedia article on Blood Ties.
