501st: A Legion at War was a live action docudrama that showed the exploits of the 501st Legion of clone troopers, from its inception during the Battle of Geonosis to its dissolution at the Battle of Endor. It had episodes for all the publicized missions and campaigns the Five Hundred and First fought in or contributed to, and it was largely responsible for bringing the legion it's share of fame and infamy. An unidentified retired clone trooper, who was discharged from the legion after serving it from the Battle of Geonosis to the Battle of Hoth, was the narrator of the docudrama, shortly after which he passed away, while an ensemble cast played the characters to the best of their ability, with about five thousand extras playing the clones and stormtroopers. Anakin Skywalker and his Padawa

| - 501st: A Legion at War was a live action docudrama that showed the exploits of the 501st Legion of clone troopers, from its inception during the Battle of Geonosis to its dissolution at the Battle of Endor. Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano were renowned as the primary general and commander of the 501st in the docudrama, and elite clones ranging from Captain Rex and ARC troopers Echo and Fives, to Commanders Appo, Vill and Voca, became household names in both the Republic and Empire. After the Clone Wars, the docudrama was often used as a propaganda tool to rally people behind the Imperial banner and inspire them to revile the enemies of the Empire, particularly the Jedi. Darth Vader was considered the ultimate hero of the 501st after it became Vader's Fist. When the Empire fell, the New Republic and Galactic Alliance allowed the docudrama to continue airing as a reminder of the valor of the Clone Wars 501st, as well as a warning of the atrocities of the Imperial 501st, while the Imperial Remnant, the Empire of the Hand, and Roan Fel's Empire preserved it as a memorial of what made the name "501st Legion" so famous in the first place.
