| - This is a lie by Jagex, and a stupid one at that. They have said that they are maintaining there zero tolerance policy, yet why would they say they have a new system that will catch ALL people using current bots. Not only are they practically telling people, "OK! You guys have to make a new bot that works differently, come back in 2 and a half weeks," but they're also saying, "If you've botted this long without getting caught, well done! We won't punish you if you stop now!", because they're telling people to stop botting because they have a new system, but the smart thing to do if they really did would be to just say nothing and let the bots fly into your webs of banning-ness.

You assume that they can actually catch and timely remove 100% of offenders. I feel this is a step forward with Jagex pre-emptively hoping to stop potential problems before they start; Jagex stating their firmness on the matter can be just as effective as Jagex's anti-cheating systems themselves. --Quarenon Talk 01:31, 14 June 2009 (UTC) Do you really think a bot (especially from large-scale gold-farming companies) is going to stop because Jagex said, "Ooh, we're going to play hard on you guys now"? Of course not. Maybe players will, but in the end bots from gold-farming companies still probably comprise the majority of RuneScape's bots. This warning will just lead to new bots being developed and people being extra cautious, revising bots to act even more natural than before. And these revised bots eventually land in the players' cheating communities as well, so Jagex is really working towards their own doom, making bots harder and harder to catch. 74.190.234.195 13:42, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
