As a smuggler, he raided and stole from vessels belonging to the Trade Federation shipping cartel, only to sell them to the people of the Outer Rim at prices lower than the Federation’s. This made him a hero to a number of people in the Outer Rim Territories. Having gained influence with the people of the Outer Rim, Stark created his own corporation, the Stark Commercial Combine. Stark began bombing Trade Federation bacta tankers in the Outer Rim, instigating the Stark Hyperspace War. Outer Rim citizens came to feel that Stark was not any better than the Federation, which was unfortunate to them as they had believed he was the first person to truly make a stand against conglomerates like the Federation. Stark was killed at the end of the war.
