Presentism is the historical fallacy of reading the values or knowledge of the present into the past. However, in his 2015 The Capitalist Unconscious (page 25), Samo Tomšič notes that Sigmund Freud described history as an assembly of deformations, rewritings and conflicts rather than an objective account.
