  • Drea was a Kelvan female and a member of an expedition from the Kelvan Empire in the radiation-imperiled Andromeda Galaxy. Her ancestors were part of a wave of multi-generational starships dispatched to nearby galaxies to find new territories for the Empire to conquer and occupy. Reaching the Milky Way Galaxy after centuries in the intergalactic void, her ship was destroyed crossing the galactic barrier. Under Rojan's command, Drea escaped with three other crewmembers in a life-craft to a Class M planet. The Kelvans adopted humanoid forms more compatible with the new region's intelligent life and available transportation.

  • Drea is another person of the Tribunal, on Ibara, with Genj and Moman. Jen Remudi also used to be on the Tribunal. The Tribunal is like the government here, and decides whether a person that has done something bad will be banished from Ibara, or if they will do hard labor. In one case, for example, Siry Remudi tried to steal something from another villager, and when he was caught and brung before the Tribunal, they gave him the choice of watching Bobby Pendragon (who they thought may have been a Flighter, as they didn't know him), or doing a year of labor with the fishing crew.

After a false distress call attracted the attention of Captain James T. Kirk, Drea was part of the boarding party that captured the USS Enterprise. Drea served as the Enterprise flight officer for the return home to report their discoveries to the Kelvan Empire. Humanoid sense perceptions and emotional tendencies were alien to Kelvan experience, allowing Kirk and his senior officers to exploit Kelvan weaknesses. Drea was the only Kelvan not subjected to this attempted subversion. Eventually, Kirk suggested that the Kelvans' new Humanity could be fully realized on a planet in the Milky Way, and the Kelvans restored control of the Enterprise to Kirk and his crew. (TOS: "By Any Other Name" ) Drea was played by actress Lezlie Dalton.
This shows how heavily they can weigh the choices, as watching Bobby probably wouldn't have been long if he had stayed on the island for a while, while working on a boat that was fishing for a year probably wouldn't have been as short.

  • Drea was a Kelvan, and a member of an advanced expedition that was sent from the Kelvan Empire in the Andromeda Galaxy, to conquer new territory for the Empire in the Milky Way Galaxy. Upon reaching the Milky Way the Kelvans' scout was destroyed while attempting to traverse the galactic barrier. Fortunately, Drea and three others, including Commander Rojan, were able to survive and make it to a nearby planet. In order to fit in with their new surroundings, Drea and the others assumed humanoid forms and sent out a fake distress signal in the hopes of attracting a passing starship which they could then use for their plans. After a short time their distress signal was responded to by Captain James T. Kirk and the USS Enterprise. Once the Enterprise arrived in orbit, Drea participated in the boarding operation, and later served as flight officer during the ship's voyage back to the Andromeda Galaxy. Control was later restored to the Enterprise crew, after they successfully managed to draw out emotions in Drea and the others. (TOS episode: "By Any Other Name") Following this, Drea and the others settled on an uninhabited planet and established a small colony there. By the late 26th century, Drea still lived on the planet, and on the order of Rojan, was responsible for launching a "galaxy bomb", which would cross the distance between the two galaxies and destroy the Andromeda Galaxy. (TOS - Strange New Worlds 9 short story: "Gone Native")
