| - Plaguebearers are distorted, cankerous daemons, condemned to spread the rot of Nurgle. These loathsome creatures are lesser servants of the Lord of Decay but still deadly, clawing and hacking at their foes with their diseased plague-swords and spreading all manner of pox and contamination wherever they go. Shambolic but purposeful, where they can these vile daemons capture and harness Plague Toads to be their mounts, stalking and squeezing them from their filth-choked lairs in the darkest cesspools of the realm of decay. The Plague Toads themselves are none too happy with the imposition, but with Plaguebearers clinging on precariously to their slippery, slime-covered backs they have little choice but to comply with the wishes of their parasitic riders and carry them into the fray. These Pox Riders, as they are known, often take the vanguard of a Plaguedaemon battle line, crashing into the ranks of mortal foes like bloated cannonballs, their riders' tainted blades slashing about them, necrotic filth and brackish blood spraying up from them as they fall, heedless of their losses. Such attacks can shatter the resolve of the hardiest souls, and even if not, they will have held their enemy in place long enough for the rest of the Lord of Decay's favoured children to engulf the enemy in horror.[1a]
