The 1988 Busch 500 was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) event held at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 27, 1988. Dale Earnhardt dominated the event in route to his third and final race of the year, leading 220 of the 500 laps and holding off Bill Elliott by one carlength.
