Jacob Colleton (c. 1894-1915) was the youngest brother of Anne and Tom. He served in the Confederate States Army before being exposed to high amounts of poison gas during a US attack whilst visiting the latrine. The field hands attempted to storm the mansion but Jacob had his rifle at hand and was able to kill four before he himself was killed by Cassius. Almost uncharacteristically, Anne was more upset at the death of her brother (who, she admitted to Scipio, was brainless but heroic) than she was at the destruction of the mansion.
