Following a part in the 1989 television drama Roe vs. Wade (with Dion Anderson, Jeff Allin, James Avery, Ward Costello, David L. Crowley, Jerry Hardin, George Murdock, Glenn Morshower, Randy Oglesby, Angela Paton, David Selburg, and Kenneth Tigar) she took a break from acting and returned fifteen years later in the 10-8: Officers on Duty episode "Wild and the Innocent" (2004) on screen. This episode also features Rosalind Chao and Richard Tanner. The same year she appeared as a victim in the science fiction short film Apartment 206. More recently, Selmon portrayed a homeless woman in the drama The Soloist (2009, with Rachael Harris, Stephen Root, and Arne Starr).
