| - Katharine Barker, born 10 March 1941 in Sedbergh, Yorkshire, was the first actress to play the role of Dolly Skilbeck. She appeared in 169 episodes of Emmerdale between 1977 and 1979 before Jean Rogers took over the role the following year. She has starred in numerous theatrical productions through the years, including William Shakespeare's "Henry IV, part 1" & "Henry V" (Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-Upon-Avon), "To Kill a Mockingbird" (Salisbury Playhouse), "Hay Fever" (The Oxford Stage Company), "The Three Sisters" & "The Crucible" (Mercury Theatre, Colchester), "The Seagull" (Crucible Theatre, Sheffield) and "The Six-Days World" (Finborough Theatre)
