In 2369, Worf discovered their whereabouts when searching for his father. Imprisoned in the camp, he became attracted to Ba'el. Gi'ral sensed this and tried to discourage them. When Tokath decided to execute Worf who refused to accept his confinement. When Ba'el stood up in front the firing squad along with Worf, Gi'ral intervened and gently convinced Tokath to stop the execution. (TNG: "Birthright, Part I" , "Birthright, Part II" ) Gi'ral was played by actress Cristine Rose. Her name comes from the script.

In 2369, Worf, searching for his father Mogh, found the colony with information procured by a Yridian dealer, and upon being captured, struck up a romantic attraction with Ba'el. Gi'ral could sense this, and did everything she could to discourage them. When Worf refused to be confined to the colony any longer, Tokath ordered a firing squad to execute him, but he and Gi'ral stopped the execution when Ba'el went in front of the squad. When Worf and many younger colony members left the planet, Gi'ral remained with her family. (TNG episode: "Birthright", Parts I & II)

Jedoch ändert sich mit seiner Anwesenheit einiges, wodurch er und einige der Kinder der ehemaligen Überlebenden von Khitomer schließlich den Planeten verlassen. Gi'ral entscheidet sich jedoch dagegen und bleibt bei ihrem Ehemann. (TNG: , ) Gi'ral wurde von Cristine Rose gespielt und von Barbara Adolph synchronisiert.
