In addition to his appearance on QL, Layne has also made guest appearances on such popular TV shows as CBS-TV's Murder, She Wrote, NBC's 3rd Rock From The Sun, Fraser, FOX-TV's Melrose Place, and The Pretender, Born and raised in the rural town of Fostoria, OH, a Toledo suburb, Layne worked as a professional actor for 25 years before answering the call to Pastor he first heard as a teenager. A 2010 graduate of the Claremont School of Theology with a Master of Divinty degree, he served McCarty Memorial Christian Church while receiving his seminary training. He also has appeared in such films as One False Move (1992), Roswell (1994) and Kill the Man (1999).
