Brainworm Rot Type A was a fatal airborne disease that was a subtype of the Brainrot Plague which afflicted humanoids and cephalopoids with high levels of dialogen in their bloodstream, including Neimoidians (and presumably Duros and other Near-Duros), Anomids, and Wol Cabasshites. Symptoms included nausea, cold sweats, the inability to process written instructions, syntax errors in spoken and written communication, and isolated purpling of gills and blowholes. Like Brainworm Rot Type C, it is likely that this malady originated on Neimoidia.

| abstract
| - Brainworm Rot Type A was a fatal airborne disease that was a subtype of the Brainrot Plague which afflicted humanoids and cephalopoids with high levels of dialogen in their bloodstream, including Neimoidians (and presumably Duros and other Near-Duros), Anomids, and Wol Cabasshites. Symptoms included nausea, cold sweats, the inability to process written instructions, syntax errors in spoken and written communication, and isolated purpling of gills and blowholes. During the Separatist Crisis, the great number of refugees traveling to Coruscant created an outbreak of the virus in the Manarai Heights district. Like Brainworm Rot Type C, it is likely that this malady originated on Neimoidia.
