Or, if she did notice that she was late, being that they were away from civilization, she would have no way to confirm/disprove her theories.

Jack served as Sawyer as he was carrying a note from his past that he wished he could get rid of, but couldn't. Ben served as Hurley as he arrived late and nearly missed the flight. Sun served as Rose as she was a married woman, stroking her wedding

Kate doesn't appear to be serving as anyone, but it is possible that she was serving for Claire because she was a single, pregnant young woman.
