- Not so long ago, vampires were forced into the spotlight after an incident that was entirely unable to be covered up by the secret Vampire Governing Counsel. The world knew that they were out there, and there wasn't much to be done about it. Every country reacted in different ways; there were mass slaughters in the Middle East, some more "progressive" countries tried to integrate the vampires into their society, but there was one that simply rounded up all of the vampires they could find (It wasn't that hard; vampires show up in a very unique way on infared), and stuck them all on an island off the coast that had been inhabited by humans and trapped by their inability to cross running water. | - Not so long ago, vampires were forced into the spotlight after an incident that was entirely unable to be covered up by the secret Vampire Governing Counsel. The world knew that they were out there, and there wasn't much to be done about it. Every country reacted in different ways; there were mass slaughters in the Middle East, some more "progressive" countries tried to integrate the vampires into their society, but there was one that simply rounded up all of the vampires they could find (It wasn't that hard; vampires show up in a very unique way on infared), and stuck them all on an island off the coast that had been inhabited by humans and trapped by their inability to cross running water. This country had the Death Pentalty for violent offenses by humans, but it was revamped in a way that had people that were found guilty of heinously violent crimes sent to Vampire Island as their punishment... and to provide nourishment for those who were trapped there. What happened to those people were more the vampires' concern than anybody elses'; feeding didn't require killing, so some of the criminals were "adopted" by individual, usually powerful vampires as blood dolls, while others were taken to old, abandoned warehouses where they were literally kept and forced to "donate" their blood on a daily basis. Most everybody was kept alive, seeing as fresh blood was in short supply... but there were a few that were killed; the worst, and most violent offenders, that were quite often violent upon arrival, were often killed on sight... and those proven worthy were turned, if it was decided that the current food supply could support another member of the community.
