He stated: "I have made this country a successor to a previous small nation, and if we can use this land to get to Turkey, then we shall invade there, starting with Croatia." The military of The Holy Ottoman Empire was being built up at the time, so a small force that was already ready was taken to Croatia. The small force burst through the borders, attacking guards who tried to attack them. Eventually, Croatia heard of the invasion, but unluckily, The Holy Ottoman Empire had built up their military. The Holy Ottoman Empire invaded Croatia, with force, and successfully took the capital, Zagreb. With this, they successfully overpowered the government and forced them to surrender. After the invasion, Croatia was absorbed, and The Holy Ottoman Empire now owned the land that Croatia once had.
